Targeted Library Synthesis and Screening at Novel Targets for Potential Drug Addiction Treatments and Research Tools:  On September 18, 2009 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health announced the availability of funding for the Targeted Library Synthesis and Screening at Novel Targets for Potential Drug Addiction Treatments and Research Tools (Catalog for Federal Domestic Assistance number 93.279). The purpose of this program is to promote the discovery of novel medications through the use of targeted library synthesis and screening for drug addiction treatment, as well as the discovery of CNS-active research tools for medication target validation in animal models of drug addiction. The application deadline is December 4, 2009 Eligible applicants include state and local governments, institutions of higher education, public housing authorities and nonprofit organizations including faith-based organizations.
