Congressman Mel Watt (12th District of North Carolina) today announced that Davidson resident Robert Vendley who attends the Cannon School in Concord has accepted his appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point for the class entering Summer 2007.
The United States Military Academy at West Point is among the top academic institutions in the country and provides young men and women four years of academic, military and physical education to prepare them for leadership as officers in the military.
Congressman Watt said: “I am pleased to have nominated Robert Vendley to the United States Military Academy at West Point. His record of accomplishments made him rise to the top during the nominating process and I am confident he will rise to the top at West Point and serve our nation honorably.”
